WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee Corp. has expanded its offer of free COVID-19 testing to 150 stores across the Midwest, including five locations in Southeast Minnesota.
In August, Hy-Vee offered free COVID-19 testing at 11 Hy-Vee pharmacy locations, including the West Circle Hy-Vee pharmacy in Rochester. Those tests were free via drive-thru testing and administered through the stores' pharmacy locations and coordinated by eTrueNorth. Individuals do not need to be symptomatic to be tested, but they must register online to receive a test voucher number, testing site and appointment time through www.doineedacovid19test.com.
On Oct. 7, Hy-Vee announced it would be expanding that testing to 150 stores. In Southeast Minnesota, that includes Austin Hy-Vee, Kasson Hy-Vee HealthMarket Rx, Crossroads Hy-Vee in Rochester, Winona Hy-Vee and the West Circle store in Rochester.
Each location is offering testing windows on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, and children ages 3 and up are eligible when registered by a parent or guardian. Each pharmacy location can accommodate up to 12 patients per hour, according to a statement from Hy-Vee Corp.
