Crash near Mazeppa injures driver

MAZEPPA — A driver lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road early Sunday just east of Mazeppa.

Michael David Dorshak, 52, of Savage, was northbound at about 4:43 a.m. on Wabasha County Road 7 at the intersection with Minnesota Highway 60 when the 2003 Dodge Caravan he was driving left the road, struck a sign and came to rest in the north ditch, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol.

Dorshak was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys with non-life threatening injuries. No update on his condition was available.

According to the state patrol, there was alcohol involved, and the road conditions were wet.

The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office and Zumbrota Ambulance also responded to the call.
