Daughter, 15, accused of assaulting mother with knife

A 15-year-old girl faces felony charges after police say she assaulted her mother — and attempted to assault her sister — with a knife.

Officers responded about 6:15 p.m. Thursday to the 2700 block of Charles Court Northwest for a report of a domestic disturbance between a mother and daughter.

The mother said the 15-year-old hit her in the head with a phone charger during an argument, then ran to the kitchen, got a knife and slashed her in the arm, the report says.

The teenager then "went after" her 19-year-old sister, said Capt. John Sherwin, but was unable to assault her.

The 15-year-old was arrested and taken to Many Rivers Juvenile Detention Center. She faces two counts of second-degree domestic assault, Sherwin said.
