Saint Marys Hospital will observe its Diamond Jubilee in 1964, and in celebration of the event, an attractive datebook prepared by St. Marys Alumni Assn. is being offered for sale to the public. St. Marys will tie in its observance with the 1964 Mayo Centennial.
As part of a replanting program 11th Ave. boulevards will get 263 new trees.
Effective at midnight Rochester residents will be able to call and receive telephone calls from Byron at no additional charge.

"Look" magazine in its issue of November 22 will carry pictures reviewing the film, "Tell Your Children," in which Mrs. Stuart Hargesheimer, formerly of Rochester, has an important role. She is currently is an actress under the name of Lillian Miles.
The St. Rose group of the Rosary society will entertain at a benefit card party at the Knights of Columbus clubrooms tomorrow.
Several new members will be initiated into the Veterans of Foreign Wars at a meeting of the Whitlock-Sonnenberg post in the A.O.U.W. hall.

Somali pirates hijacked the Sirius Star, a Saudi-owned oil supertanker, in the Indian Ocean. (The ship was released eight weeks later after the pirates were reportedly paid a ransom.)
One year ago:The Justice Department announced that BP had agreed to plead guilty to a raft of charges in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill pay a record $4.5 billion, including nearly $1.3 billion in criminal fines. The settlement came 2 1/2 years after the fiery drilling-rig explosion killed 11 workers and touched off the nation's largest offshore oil spill. Four veterans were killed and 16 people injured when a train slammed into a parade float carrying wounded warriors and their spouses in Midland, Texas. Detroit's Miguel Cabrera was named the American League's Most Valuable Player by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. San Francisco's Buster Posey was the National League MVP.
