Day in History: Pick up Sneezy for 12 cents

1988 – 25 years ago

Todd Savage, a Rochester graphic designer, has won the 1988 Rochesterfest button design contest with an entry that highlights the city's downtown construction projects. The Rochester Clements Chevrolet team won the city's annual Men's Association Bowling Tournament held at Colonial Lanes. Team members were Mike Axtman, A.J. Meyer, Jerry Behken, Mel Tollesfsrud and Jim Lehman.

The Rochester Junior Chamber of Commerce and Mrs. Jaycees will gather for a joint meeting. The special guest will be Janet Washburn, the new Miss Rochester.

One of the largest advance ticket sales ever is being experienced at the Chateau Theater for the upcoming stage show entitled "You Can't Take It With You." The play won the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for drama.

The Rochester Dairy is selling creamed cottage cheese packed in genuine Libbey Safedge Flint glass tumblers decorated in color with Walt Disney's characters in the new cartoon feature "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." This week you can pick up Sneezy for 12 cents.
