Driver injured in crash on U.S. 61

WABASHA — A Woodbury, Minn., man was injured in a crash along U.S. 61 in Wabasha County about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

A van driven by Derek Ronning, 27, rear-ended a semitrailer that was stopped along the southbound lanes for removal of an overhead cable or power line, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Ronning was taken to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Wabasha with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to the state patrol. The driver of the semi, John Danckwart, 53, of Kellogg, didn't appear to be injured.
