A police investigation into a car allegedly involved in gas drive-offs resulted in officers finding an array of drugs and stolen license plates on Saturday, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Methamphetamine, LSD, and cocaine were found in the car, which caught an officer's attention because it was parked at a closed gas station away from the pumps at around 11:30 p.m., according to Lt. Casey Moilanen.
The officer looked up the car's license plate and learned that it had been involved in gas drive-offs, Moilanen said.
The driver, who had a warrant for his arrest, ran from police but was arrested not far from the Apollo station in the 1000 block of Fourth Street Southeast, Moilanen said. Damage to property charges may be filed against the man because he allegedly damaged an officer's watch and pants while the officer was making the arrest, Moilanen said.
A passenger in the vehicle was also arrested and faces possible drug possession charges, he added.
