Elections are Tuesday in Mower County's 20 townships

Residents of Minnesota's 1,786 townships go the polls on Tuesday to elect officers to three-year terms. In Mower County, there are 20 townships.

Townships have authority for planning, subdivision control, zoning, maintenance of public works, parks, cemeteries, and hospitals, in addition to regular duties such as elections, tax levies, and public roads, according to the secretary of state's office.
