Embers from a charcoal grill ignited objects inside a steel shed on Tuesday, causing an estimated $3,000 in damage to the shed's contents, according to the Rochester Fire Department.
The fire started inside a backyard shed measuring roughly 40 feet by 10 feet in the 900 block of Seventh Street Northeast, according to Assistant Fire Marshal Larry Mueller.
The homeowner was trying to douse the fire with a garden hose before firefighters arrived and extinguished the small blaze, Mueller said.
