Emmer's running mate to visit Rochester

The GOP-endorsed candidate for lieutenant governor is scheduled to visit Rochester today to talk about business and jobs.

Annette Meeks, running mate of gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer, is making the stop as part of a statewide listening tour dubbed the "Freedom & Prosperity Project." The Emmer campaign is hosting a series of town hall discussions on various topics. The event was to begin at noon at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center.

Joining Meeks will be Emmer's campaign manager, GOP Rep. Mark Buesgens of Jordan. Other Republicans participating will be Rep. Steve Drazkowski, R-Mazeppa, and former state representative Fran Bradley of Rochester.

Meeks is the founder and CEO of the Freedom Foundation of Minnesota, a conservative think tank. She is also the former deputy chief of staff for former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
