About 2,000 people gathered at Rochester Community and Technical College Tuesday morning to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.

About 2,000 people gathered at Rochester Community and Technical College Tuesday morning to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.

The celebration included a special Eid ul-Fitr prayer, said Rashed Ferdous of Rochester, a Muslim community member.

The rest of the day included visiting the graves of loved ones, hugging and greeting family and friends with Eid greetings, watching children open presents and cooking food for neighbors and friends after a month of daylight fasting, he said.
