EYOTA — A machine shed and its contents in Eyota Township were destroyed by a fire early Monday morning, officials said today.
Firefighters from Dover and Eyota responded about 2:45 a.m. to the 2400 block of Olmsted County Road 7 Northeast after the homeowner discovered the blaze.
The 40-by-80 foot building was completely engulfed when crews arrived, the report says.
Lost were three tractors, a skid loader, a snowmobile, a four-wheeler, a zero-turn lawnmower and other items. The damage was estimated at $80,000, said Sgt. Tom Claymon.
The corrugated tin building was built in 1965, he said; the original wiring is believed to have been the case of the fire.
