FedEx truck driver hurt in Minn. train collision

HAYWARD, Minn. — A FedEx truck driver was hurt in a collision with a train in southern Minnesota.

The driver, identified as 50-year-old Timothy Moore, had just delivered a package to a house near Hayward when the accident happened Thursday morning.

The Freeborn County sheriff's office says Moore was traveling south down the driveway from the house when the train collided with the front of the truck.

The FedEx truck came to rest in the yard next to the tracks. The train cars were separated to allow emergency responders to reach the truck. Firefighters had to cut off the door of the truck to free Moore.

Moore was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
