A minivan engulfed in flames caused damage to a duplex garage late Tuesday night.
Rochester Fire Department crews responded at about 10:52 p.m. to multiple calls concerning a minivan that was on fire in the driveway of a duplex in the 2700 block of Hawk Ridge Court Southeast, according to a report from the Rochester Fire Department.
When the fire personnel arrived, the vehicle, parked in the driveway, was engulfed in flames. The front of the garage of the duplex was also on fire, the report states.
The occupants of both halves of the duplex had been alerted by neighbors and had safely exited the residences.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire on the garage then the minivan, the report states, then they searched the duplex for fire extension but none was found.

Both sides of the duplex had very little smoke damage and both residences were ventilated by fire crews and checked for air quality, the report states. Both sets of occupants were able to return to their homes.
The fire is under investigation by the Rochester Fire Marshal’s Office.
Rochester Police and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the call.
The front of the garage was heavily damaged, and the minivan was a complete loss, the report states. The estimated damage is $50,000.
