Former school board sentenced

MANTORVILLE — A former Kasson-Mantorville School Board member was sentenced Wednesday to 240 days in jail, to be served on work release, and to do 100 hours community work service after pleading guilty Feb. 14 to one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A second charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct against Steven Paul Allen, 39, of Kasson, was dismissed in Dodge County District Court. If he successfully completes 15 years of probation, the felony charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor. He also was assessed $1,080 in fines and fees.

He was charged with having sexual contact in early 2009 with a girl who was at least 13 but younger than 16.
