Four injured in crash on U.S. 14 near Lewiston

LEWISTON — Four people suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash near Lewiston. Children ages 6 and 1 escaped injury.

A westbound car driven by Kalika Valentine-Erickson, 22, of Lewiston, was stopped on the highway, preparing to turn left, when the car was struck from behind by a car driven by Catherine Golden, 58, of St. Charles. Then a car driven by Diane Runkle, 59, of Minnesota City, ran into the car driven by Golden.

Valentine-Erickson, Golden and Runkle suffered minor injuries, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report. Amber Kreidermacher, 25, residence not reported, who was riding with Valentine-Erickson, also suffered minor injuries.

Riley Huntley, 6, and Sophia Erickson, 1, who were riding with Valentine-Erickson, weren't injured.

The report says that all six people involved in the crash had their seat belts fastened.

The crash happened at 5:07 p.m. It closed the highway for more than an hour.

Members of the Winona County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
