Precipitation, most likely in the form of freezing rain, is expected to sweep through southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said ice could accumulate, with 1/10 to 2/10 of an inch possible. Southeast Minnesota is under a winter weather advisory.
The precipitation will give way to increased winds Friday night.
"Blustery conditions will persist into Saturday night as winds are expected to blow at 20 to 30 mph, with gusts approaching 40 mph," the weather service said.
The temperature is forecast to drop to the single digits overnight, with a high of 5 to 10 degrees Saturday.
