WINONA — An attorney with extensive experience in child protection was named interim Winona County attorney Tuesday by the Winona County Board.
Thomas Frost of Trego, Wis., replaces Chuck Maclean who resigned and is now teaching college.
In November's election, Assistant County Attorney Kevin O'Laughlin will face Karin Sonneman who is a public defender.
Frost has a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law and a masters of public administration from Harvard University. Most recently, he was interim coordinator for the Minnesota Chapter of the National Children's Alliance. Before that, he was interim director of CornerHouse that trains people how to interview children who might have been abused. He also worked for the Hennepin County Attorney's office.
