Full slate of trips planned for 2011

It may have been the invite for a coffee party to meet friends who, too, are feeling housebound, or maybe they came to check out what plans we have scheduled for this year. Whatever the reason, it was great seeing you all.

Names were drawn for prizes and should come to the center to claim your prize.

Winners were: Leon Jacobson, Shirley Lewison, Mary King, Louise Anderson, and Donna Oehlers. Susan Davis was drawn for the questionnaire on future travel.

The yearly calendar is now available along with a listing of travel for 2011. These may be picked up in the message box on the south side of our building (outside). Just a reminder that all trips are open to the public, and discounts and a monthly newsletter go to our members for joining our beautiful center. (I know you're all not old enough, but we have the youngest seniors around.) Thanks to all of you for coming. And thanks also to all of you who helped work on this yearly event. What a fun event.

• June 16 (Thursday): Guys and Dolls, Orpheum Theater, Minneapolis.

• June 29 (Wednesday): Minnesota Twins vs. L.A. Dodgers.

• July 14 (Thursday): Annual Mystery trip.

• July 27 (Wednesday): "Jesus Christ Superstar."

• August: Trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum (TBA).

• Sept. 1 (Thursday): Annual Minnesota State Fair trip.

• Sept. 6-17 (Tuesday-Saturday): Oregon, California motor coach (itinerary).

• Sept. 18 (Sunday): "Hairspray," Chanhassen Dinner Theater.

• Dec. 3 (Saturday): Lundstrom's Country Christmas Celebration, Lakeville.

• Dec. 31-Jan. 1: New Year's Eve gala, annual trip. "Hairspray," Chanhassen Dinner Theater.

(We will share that some of these are filling quickly.)

We will be setting a date because of the interest registered in our survey for "King Tut" at the Science Museum of Minnesota. Also as more venues have made plans we will fill in with more travel and keep you posted.
