Goodhue fair to host bingo, musical

ZUMBROTA — 4-H participants will host bingo and perform a musical at the Goodhue County Fair Aug. 5-10.

The participants hope to raise funds for exchange opportunities with 4-H programs in other states. In the past, fundraising like this has sent local 4-H participants to Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and elsewhere.

"Full Speed Ahead" is an original musical that will be performed twice daily during the fair on the 4-H stage. It is a 30-minute, comedic, rock musical, written and directed by Peter Mol and Nicole Wells of Red Wing. It features hit songs such as "Let It Go" and "Radioactive."

Showtimes on Aug. 6, Aug. 7 and Aug. 9 will be at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. On Aug. 8, the show will be at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Aug. 10 it will be at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. The bingo tent opens Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. and will be open every day from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the fair. Bingo cards are 25 cents each or five for $1.

The two events will take place near the 4-H building on the fairgrounds in Zumbrota.
