GOODHUE — The Goodhue Area Historical Society will host a Re-Grand Opening for its museum from 1-4 p.m. July 17 in Goodhue. The Goodhue Area History Museum features historical artifacts pertaining to agricultural and rural life in and around the Goodhue area dating back to the early 1800s.
The museum has recently undergone an expansion, doubling in size, and is inviting the public to have a look at its expanded space and the new displays that are able to be shown, said Ardy Henrichs, a member of the museum board. Mainly, the new space allows room for agricultural items such as a threshing machine or a manure spreader.
"We've reorganized everything," Henricks said. "There are still some pieces off site, but we're getting them there."
Henricks said the event will feature ice cream and music from Ray and Sue Sands, members of The Polka Dots.
The museum is normally open Thursdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. June 1 through Labor Day or by appointment.
