Rochester Noon Exchange Club will work during April, which is Child Abuse Prevention Month throughout the United States, to help Rochester and surrounding communities prevent child abuse.
Exchange Club members in Rochester and throughout the United States in April will wear blue shirts and display a blue ribbon in workplaces on each Monday.
"We hope this will make us more aware that more than 3 million children are abused or neglected each year in the United States," said Jan Durbahn, the local club's president.
Rochester Noon Exchange supports Justice and Opportunity for Youth, a local group of volunteers who help teens who might have been abused. The Exchange club also raises money at meetings for JOY. This year, the club contributed $1,000 to the Rochester Boys & Girls Club.
