Heard on the Street: Cambria adds more counterculture to downtown Rochester
Rochester's counterculture expanded recently with the opening of Cambria's second downtown "touch and feel" showroom of quartz surface products.
Le Sueur-based Cambriaon July 15 opened the doors on a 1,300 square-foot gallery on the skyway level of the new downtown Hilton hotel at 10 E. Center St. That's at the corner of North Broadway and Center Street.
It is next to the under-construction Healing Touch Spaand the recently opened breakfast and lunch eatery Benedict’son the hotel's skyway level.
Cambria describes the gallery as a place that visitors can view "full-size slabs" of the latest quartz countertops as well as tabletop accessories such as cheeseboards, bookends, coasters and napkin rings.
It also features "a beverage center for guests, working library tables, samples, inspirational imagery from Cambria installations, and video content throughout the space."
Cambria has another Rochester gallery a few blocks away, at 400 S. Broadway in the Riverside Building. That 2,400-square-foot showroom opened in 2014. Many public business and nonprofit events are held there.
