Put on your leg warmers, rat up your hair, and celebrate the best music of the '70s, '80s, and '90s with PowerBalladz: The Ultimate 80s Sing Along this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Paramount Theatre.
PowerBalladz is described as part Wayne's World-like comedy, part interactive game show, and 90 minutes of hard rock. The New York Times called the show, "a loving tribute to the heyday of the hair band, when Aqua Net ruled and MTV played videos." A live rock and roll concert and comedy show, PowerBalladz features three great singers, a rockin' band, all the necessities of a rock concert: lights, a fog machine, video projection and a T-shirt cannon.
Audience members are invited to unleash their inner rock star and sing along to great music from 80s performers like Bon Jovi, Poison, Journey, Guns 'n' Roses, Leonard Skynard and many others. A true homage to rock, the show has been recommended as a great night out with friends. Be prepared to dance the night away and go home hoarse. The Austin Jaycee's will also be at the Paramount that evening selling beverages.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $22 at the door. They can be purchased online at paramounttheatre.org. For more information about the show, visit singalongpowerballadz.com .
