Historical society seeks public ideas for strategic plan

The Mower County Historical Society is seeking public comments on its recently completed strategic plan draft.

The plan is meant to guide the historical society’s operations and goals from 2013 to 2018. Input from members of the historical society, funding partners and the general public will be compiled and used to improve the current draft.

"Our board of directors and staff have been working on this for quite some time," said Executive Director Dustin Heckman. "With input from our membership and the general public, we can make sure that our goals and priorities are in line with expectations from our constituents and the people we serve."

A copy of the strategic plan has been posted on the Mower County Historical Society website ( www.mowercountyhistory.org ) for download, or a paper copy may be picked up at the historical society’s main office. Public comments will be accepted through Nov. 30. Comments may be submitted in person, by mail or via email at mchsdir@smig.net .

The Mower County Historical Society was founded in 1947. Its mission is to discover, collect, preserve and disseminate knowledge about the history of Mower County and relate it to the history of Minnesota.
