RED WING — For those looking for a break from Black Friday shopping, Red Wing will hold its annual Holiday Stroll the day after Thanksgiving.
The popular city festival will feature entertainment for all ages, starting with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m., though most of the events begin at 4 p.m. Other options include live music, live penguins and reindeer, Santa and Mrs. Claus, sleigh rides, a festival of trees and a beer garden.
The nativity scene will be performed three times at Christ Episcopal Church starting at 5:30 p.m. and a lighted parade will be held throughout the downtown streets beginning at 7 p.m. Cookie decorating will also be held from 4-8 p.m. at Hanisch Bakery.
Thousands of people routinely attend the popular city celebration. Those feet on the street are a boon for downtown businesses, which typically enjoy one of their biggest shopping days of the year.
