Hunting gear reported stolen from truck

An Elkton man reported Tuesday that nearly $800 worth of hunting equipment was stolen from his truck.

The 37-year-old told Mower County Sheriff's deputies that the vehicle had been parked at a local construction area, but he's unsure where — or when — the theft occurred.

The items taken sometime between Dec. 14 and 17 included a Winchester power spotting scope, a Leica Rangemaster 900 and a Buck knife.

While it's unclear if the vehicle was locked, Sheriff Terese Amazi said there was no sign of forced entry.
