Iowa man seeking soda can donations to move to Rochester for heart transplant

Jeff Lively of Laurens, Iowa, is scheduled to arrive in Rochester this week for medical tests.

He is asking for soda can donations from local residents to help his family relocate to Rochester until he gets a heart transplant — or perhaps permanently. He's been on the national heart transplant list since Aug. 16, says a fundraising announcement. He had heart attacks at ages 32 and 34, and his blood type means a 6-month wait for a heart.

He is seeking can donations, housing assistance or other help for his relocation and medical care. To donate aluminum cans, go to Watson Recycling in Rochester, 1961 N. Broadway.
