BYRON — Thieves took a backpack with college books and other items from three vehicles parked on a city street here early Tuesday morning.
The Olmsted County sheriff’s department said in all three cases, the vehicles were unlocked.
Some loose change, a set of car keys and the backpack and a tool bag were missing when owners went to their cars Tuesday. Authorities said the thefts occurred between 4 and 6 a.m. in the area of Second Street and Byron Avenue. All are believed related. Loss is estimated at about $500.
