Lehmkuhle to give UMR's State of the Campus

Chancellor Stephen Lehmkuhle is scheduled to make his 2014 State of the Campus Address at noon on Tuesday.

The address will focus on the progress, unique educational programs and the role of University of Minnesota Rochester in the region, according to a press release issued by Jay Hesley, UMR's assistant vice chancellor. It will be held on campus.

"For years, within the campus, UMR has been talking about its unique curriculum and learning environment," wrote Hesley. "Now the plan is to shout it from the rooftops."

Dr. Lori Carrell, UMR's new Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Student Development, will also talk about how the school plans to "optimize our distinctiveness" in hopes of changing how the academic world thinks about education. Recent graduates will be among the other speakers.

The address will be posted on www.r.umn.edu later this week and key messages will be shared on the UMR twitter account in real time.
