Sometimes the number seven is a magic number. For citizens of Austin, it may well be a number that will be important as voting takes place for members of the Austin School Board.
The following statements invite you to consider Don Leathers as a new member of the Austin School Board.
1). Availability in terms of a time commitment, as he is a retired school teacher.
2). His resourcefulness in leadership roles in past endeavors.
3). His being known by children and families as an active coach and umpire in Austin area sports activities.

4). With his wife, Marsha, they raised three children, who were schooled in the Austin Public Schools.
5). He is a person who brings to his leadership no political or preconceived agendas.
6). His membership over years in an Austin church, reflects his character and his maturity as a person of faith. No axes to grind!
7). We who are volunteers in a number of Austin agencies, venues, and boards, have come to know the beauty of our city and how the right leaders can enhance that beauty.
