A 27-year-old Rochester man was arrested Saturday after an automated license plate recognition system revealed an active warrant.
According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, a deputy on patrol about 1:30 p.m. was in the 1400 block of Third Avenue Southeast when the device in the squad car alerted him to the vehicle.
The man with the warrant was the passenger in the car, the report says. A subsequent search found "a significant amount of heroin," said Sgt. Tom Claymon.
The Post-Bulletin typically doesn't name suspects until they've been charged.
