The Franciscans International Assisi Heights Group plans a presentation titled "Afghanistan: The Cost of Perpetual War." The speaker, Kathy Kelly, will offer "an eyewitness account" of Afghanistan.
"She will describe life in Afghanistan today, the growing peace movement and the recently signed Strategic Partnership Agreement between the U.S. and the current Afghan government, which would keep U.S. troops in Afghanistan until 2024," says an announcement.
The presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Assisi Heights Spirituality Center, 1001 14th St. N.W., Rochester.
