Local man injured in U.S. 61 crash

WABASHA — A local man was injured Wednesday night after his vehicle was sideswiped while traveling on U.S. 61 near Wabasha, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Michael Haberbush, 22, of Reads Landing, was traveling southbound on U.S. 61 just before 6:30 p.m. when he attempted to make a U-turn. According to the incident report, a vehicle that had been driving behind Haberbush collided with the left rear of his car before the U-turn could be completed.

Haberbush suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. He was transported via ambulance to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester for care. A hospital spokesperson said Thursday that he's in good condition.

The driver of the other vehicle was Jarrid Horton, 24, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, was not injured in the incident, nor were either of his two passengers.

The Wabasha County Sheriff's Office and the Wabasha Police Department were the lead agencies at the scene. The Wabasha Ambulance and the Wabasha Fire Department also assisted.
