NEW LONDON — Longtime Owatonna businessman Ted Paffrath was killed Sunday in a tree-cutting accident near New London, Kandiyohi County officials said.
Kandiyohi County Sheriff Daniel Hartog said Monday that his office received a call at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday of a tree-cutting accident north of Green Lake and east of New London where the Paffrath family owned some land.
"They were out working on the trees, and part of the tree fell on him and crushed him," Hartog said.
No one else was around when the accident occurred, Hartog said, and some family members found him. Paffrath died at the scene, the sheriff said.
