A study of Rochester growth patterns has prompted the Rochester postal service to announce the addition of another ZIP code to serve the city. Effective July 1, ZIP code 55906 will serve the northeast quadrant of the city.

A committee has announced plans for a luncheon testimonial to honor federal judge Harry A. Blackmun of Rochester, who on June 9 is slated to be sworn in as the 98th justice to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.

A 1927 Seagrave fire truck, once a major source of fire protection for the then-new Plummer Building, is being sold as an antique by the City Fire Department. The right-hand drive vehicle is still in running condition, although it was retired from active duty more than 10 years ago.
