The Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Run will be on Sept. 28..
The family-friendly event is open to all walkers and runners.
"Individuals or groups can attend the event, volunteer, or donate refreshments for the post-event program, items for the silent auction, or participant prizes," says an announcement fromThe Lupus Foundation of Minnesota.
Lupus Ambassador Chris Cronick will be present to tell her lupus story.
Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk/5K run starting at 10:30 a.m.

Mayor Ardell Brede is scheduled to welcome participants and kick off the event at Rochester'sEssex Park, 5554 W. River Rd. N.W.
