Man accused of taking grandmother's meds

WABASHA — A Red Wing man has been charged in Wabasha County District Court with allegedly taking his grandmother's prescription medication to get high.

A settlement conference for Kenneth Ronald Huffman, 48, is set for April 21. He was charged March 4 with gross misdemeanor criminal neglect and misdemeanor theft. Bail was set at $2,000.

The complaint alleges someone reported Huffman was taking his grandmother's medication for nerves. On Jan. 11, someone picked up 270 pills for the woman and on Jan. 29, only one remained.

Huffman allegedly admitted to police that he took the medication to get high.
