The man Rochester police suspect of firing shots during a party at a southeast apartment complex made his initial appearance Tuesday in Olmsted County District Court.
Bolus Andre Dimbiti, 22, has been charged with two felony weapons counts and one count of possessing a firearm after a gross misdemeanor conviction. He remains in custody in lieu of $10,000 conditional bail and is due back in court March 8.

The incident began about 1:15 a.m. Dec. 20, when several 911 calls reporting gunshots sent officers to The Edge Apartments, 863 21st Ave. SE
People were scattering when police arrived, the report says, and officers found several shell casings in the interior of the building. A witness said a man he knew as "C4" had been bragging at the party about having a gun. A second witness confirmed that, the complaint says, and said it was "C4" who did the shooting.
Surveillance video from the scene showed a man — who police identified as Dimbiti — producing a gun and firing several rounds into the ceiling.
A party in one of the apartments got a little larger than expected, the tenant told officers, including people he didn't know. The shooting occurred as the tenant was trying to clear the apartment.
Officers spotted Dimbiti about 12:45 p.m. that day in a vehicle leaving 2827 Northern Valley Drive NE and initiated a traffic stop. A search warrant was later executed at the residence, which turned up clothes that matched what the shooter in the surveillance video was wearing. Also found were two .45 caliber bullets.
