Charges are pending against an Ostrander man after police say he was found with drugs.
The incident began about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, when an officer on patrol stopped the man for a pair of driving violations. The suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs, said Lt. Casey Moilanen, so the officer asked him to step out of the vehicle.
When he did, a package containing nearly 25 grams of methamphetamine "fell from his person," the report says. That amount is considered not just for personal use, Moilanen said.
The traffic stop was made in the 200 block of First Avenue Southwest.
The Post-Bulletin typically doesn't identify suspects until they've been charged.
