MINNEAPOLIS — A Metro Transit official says a man has died after being hit by a light-rail train in Minneapolis.
Officials say the man was waiting at the VA Medical Center platform Sunday night. Metro Transit spokesman John Sigveland says it's not clear how the man ended up in the train's path.
Local news media report tht investigators plan to use video from the platform and may interview passengers to help understand what happened.
Sigveland says Metro Transit police are investigating. The victim's name hasn't been released.
Metro Transit says the driver of the train was tested for drugs and alcohol according to standard procedure. The results are expected later this week.
