A 39-year-old Rochester man was stabbed this morning in what police say could have been an interrupted burglary.
Authorities had few details at a morning press briefing, sharing only what the alleged victim told them when they were called at 7 a.m.
The man said he'd taken his dog out for a walk, leaving the back door unlocked to the home at 3620 Fourth Place NW, said Capt. John Sherwin.
When he returned to the house, the victim was struck in the head from behind with a blunt object, the report says, then stabbed in the forearm and through the hand. The knife was still in his hand when officers arrived, Sherwin said.
After the attack, the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The alleged victim wasn't able to describe the assailant, other than to say the person wore white shoes.
