Man says he surrendered money in fear

A man walking to work early today reported to police that he was robbed in downtown Rochester by a man who made him afraid for his safety.

The man said he was walking about 4:50 a.m. today when his path was blocked by a muscular man at East Center Street and First Avenue, said Capt. Brian Winters. The man said the other person didn't threaten him or show a weapon but that he was concerned he might be harmed and handed over a small amount of cash.

The suspect was described as 6-feet, 3-inches tall, black and clean shaven with short dark hair. He wore a black T-shirt, dark baggy pants and a black baseball cap with a white logo.
