WINONA — A Winona man was sentenced Jan. 29 in Winona District Court to five years in prison for his part in the drug-overdose death of a Winona woman in 2008.
Jeffrey Lee Frey, 48, pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, aiding and abetting, Oct. 28. Two third-degree murder and one other second-degree manslaughter charges were dropped.
Frey was also sentenced for several drug-related charges, but they were to be concurrent with the manslaughter sentence.
He was one of three men charged in the methadone-related death of Jane Jay Christensen, who received the methadone in 2008 from one of the three, according to the complaints.
