WINONA — A man who was the subject of a manhunt last summer around Great River Bluffs State Park near Dakota was sentenced Feb. 1 in Winona County District Court to three days in jail after pleading guilty to carrying a weapon without a permit in a public place.
Gary Randell Boggan, 42, was given credit for the three days he served in jail. He also was placed on probation for one year.
The Winona County Sheriff's Department was notified July 9 that a man who might kill himself was in the park, according to the criminal complaint. Boggan was found July 11 with a handgun that belonged to his wife.
