ALBERT LEA — An Owatonna man is in serious condition after spending more than six hours in his car in a frigid creek along Interstate 90 near Albert Lea.
Fifty-three-year-old Lyndon Schewe left I-90 north of Albert Lea around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Authorities did not discover him in Wedge Creek until about 1 p.m.
Schewe had to be extricated from his Buick. He was airlifted in serious condition to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. On Friday night, he was in serious condition, according to a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman.
Authorities have not released the cause of the crash. A Minnesota State Patrol report describes the crash as a rollover.
