MANTORVILLE — Jim Maxson resigned from the Mantorville City Council on Nov. 24, mere weeks after winning re-election for a new four-year term. No explanation was provided in his brief memo to the council.
Maxson intends to serve out the rest of his current term before stepping away. Mantorville had elected him to the same post Nov. 4 with 231 votes.
The council is debating how to fill the unexpected vacancy, but Sherry Roth received the next highest amount of votes as a write-in candidate.
