Dr. Elson So, director of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine Section of Electroencephalography in Rochester, has been elected president of the American Epilepsy Society.
He serves on the editorial boards of the scientific journals Epilepsia, Epilepsy Research and Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology, says a Medscape report.
So is also past chair of the Section of Clinical Neurophysiology of the American Academy of Neurology.
He has served in several leadership roles with groups like the American Epilepsy Society, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and the Epilepsy Foundation.
His research interests, according to Medscape , include single-photo emission computed tomography (SUDEP) and the "natural history, treatment outcomes and electroclinical aspects of intractable epilepsy."
