Megan Chock, a fourth-year medical student at the Mayo Medical School, has been recognized by the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians as the winner of the 2015 Medical Student Award for Contributions to Family Medicine.
Chock was recognized for her work in improving the health of under-served populations.
The group cited her work with the Mayo Clinic Smoking cessation clinic, her co-authorship of a report on suicide in American Indian and Alaska Native populations, and her work co-founding the Mayo Medical School Public Interest Group.
Candidates are nominated for the annual award by teachers and fellow students.
