Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede will recognize local Corporation for National and Community Service participants during an open house Tuesday at Channel One Regional Food Bank .
Brede will be one of more than 1,000 mayors across the nation who will be participating in the CNCS's Mayors Day of Recognition .
During the open house, beginning at 9 a.m., Brede will make a proclamation to recognize the impact of the CNCS program in Rochester and thank Senior Corps volunteers and AmeriCorps members who serve.
In addition to the CNCS, the Mayors Day of Recognition is sponsored by the National League of Cities, Cities of Service and the U.S. Conference of Mayors President Scott Smith, who is the mayor of Mesa, Ariz.
The CNCS is a federal agency that operates Senior Corps and AmeriCorps and other volunteering programs.
